At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, Samsung announced that Samsung Wallet now supports Digital Home Keys. This new feature is enabled through the Aliro standard, which was developed specifically for smart door locks for homes. With this addition, Samsung Wallet now supports both Digital Car Keys and Digital Home Keys.
Support for Digital Home Keys will roll out to the Samsung Wallet app later this month in select markets. Once a Matter-compatible smart door lock is added to the SmartThings app, its Digital Home Key is stored in Samsung Wallet. Depending on the lock’s capabilities, a Galaxy phone can unlock it either by tapping the lock using NFC or by simply bringing the phone close to it using Ultra Wideband (UWB).
The Aliro standard was developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) to create a unified and secure framework for smart lock access. Samsung is a founding member of CSA.
With this update, compatible smart locks from brands such as Aqara, Nuki, Schlage, and Xthings can be unlocked using Galaxy smartphones through Samsung Wallet. Security remains a priority. Digital Home Key data is protected by Samsung Knox and aligns with the EAL6+ certification standard, which is commonly used for high-security environments.
